All this week I’ll be featuring Daily Catfights featuring past and present WWE Divas, as part of Wrestlemania Week here at the Blowhole. Kicking it off will be two of the WWE’s premiere and original Divas, both debuted in the mid-90s and ruled that decade like no other.
Known for: Being the manager to the stars. In the mid-to-late ’90s, Sunny managed dozens of superstars, including many tag teams.
Wrestlemania Experience: Though she appeared in several as a manager, she only competed at one, making a one nigh return in the Miss Wrestlemania Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 25 in 2009.
Since Leaving the WWE: Sunny has remained in the wrestling business, appearing in indie shows and conventions everywhere. This Sunday she will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of Wrestlemania weekend.
Known for: She debuted as a manager at WM12 for Triple H but was switched to Marc Mero before the night’s end. After a couple years managing, and then feuding, with Mero, she won the revived Women’s Championship. She was the originator of the Playboy Push, which later became a yearly tradition in which one WWE Diva would be the cover girl of Playboy around WM time and likewise be placed in a match at WM to promote it.
Wrestlemania Experience: Competed at WMs 14, 15, and 20.
Since Leaving the WWE: She left the company in 2000, returned for a short stint in 2003, and then left to start a family with now-UFC fighter Brock Lesnar.
So which would you choose? The choice is yours, and yours alone! Come back tomorrow and every day this week for more WWE Diva Match-Ups.
