Bring Back Good Holiday Family Films

I am of course referring to those such as the 1993 classic Hocus Pocus, which was listed on Mikes Halloween favorites list.

Current family holiday flicks are lacking, and I dunno if it’s because I am no longer 5 or because they don’t enlist fine actors like Bette Midler.  I’d say it’s the latter since I still love me some Hocus Pocus.  The film had everything kids and parents can enjoy; slightly creepy make-up for the kids, cute actors with bad 90’s hair for the teens, innuendos for the parents and interesting enough plot and catchy music for everyone! Oh, and we mustn’t forget how well Sarah Jessica Parker did as the Sarah the attractive, but empty headed witch sister. Seriously, that might be my favorite character she’s ever played.  Kathy Najimy needs to be injected into more comedies, there just isn’t enough of her these days, and lets not forget Bette….
