H.D. Presents: A New Video

June 29, 2010

Here’s a fun music video from one of my favorite bands, Rooney. Just some random facts about the lead singer of Rooney, Robert Schwartzman: He is the brother of actor, Jason Schwartzman (Darjeeling Limited, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story), he’s also related to the famous Hollywood Coppolas and Nicolas Cage, he named the band after principal Ed Rooney from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and he played Michael Moscovitz in The Princess Diaries.

Now without any further delay…

Enjoy life peoples!!

The Blowhole Babe of the Week #37: Shailene Woodley

June 28, 2010

First things first. Big thanks to Nicole for handling the Babe responsibilities while I was away last week.

This week, your Babe is Shailene Woodley, who currently stars on the ABC Family program, The Secret Life of the American Teenager. She was the titular pregnant lass, so this is the place to insert all of your obligatory “I wouldn’t mind knocking her up” style comments. Go ahead. I’ll give you a minute.

She also has nabbed a role alongside George Clooney in The Descendants, due out in 2011. Personally, I’m hoping her career takes off soon because though I’ve caught the show a couple times during marathons, I don’t care to tune into Secret Life on a regular basis.

Hunk of the Week #11 : Michael Weatherly

June 27, 2010

This week’s HOTW  is Michael Weatherly and sadly when I picked him I was thinking Anthony DiNozzo, DiNozzo, mmm mmm mmm DiNozzo. This yummy hunk was born in New York City and raised in Fairfield CT. He dropped out of college to pursue  his acting career and landed is first job as Theo Huxable’s roommate on “The Cosby Show“. Though being on a popular TV show like NCIS probably pays pretty well Michael Weatherly is the son of Michael Manning Weatherly Sr. the millionaire who made his money importing Swiss Army Knives. Rich, hot, and talented- he’s a triple threat!

But hands off girls, this hunk is married to Bojana Jankovic. And with looks like that it figures. He was previously married to Amelie Heinle the mother to his son, and only child,  August Manning. He was once engaged to Jessica Alba and briefly dated Rachel Hunter

Where you might have seen him:

1) Cabin by the Lake as Boone

2)Ally McBeal as Wayne Keebler

3)Dark Angel as Logan Cale (where he met is short time fiancee Jessica Alba)

4) Jag as Special Agent  Anthony DiNozzo

Where you can see him now:

On NCIS of course! Michael Weatherly plays Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo, the hot, wisecracking, womanizing crime fighting NCIS agent. You can catch the show on CBS Tuesdays at 8/7c.

Hello Ladies and Gents.  Welcome to another edition of The Daily Blowhole’s Youtube Spotlight where we discuss the cool, the weird, and the talented of the Youtube Universe. He started posting  videos on Youtube in April 2007 and quickly rose to over 4,400 subscribers within a month. Since then that number has grown to over 455,000 subscribers, with thousands more added on a daily basis. On his channel, Charlie posts vlogs and music videos; he does challenges from his viewers which explains his most notable feature, the red hair and at the end of each video a voice says “You have just had the almost imponderable joy of watching Charlieissocoollike, which makes you like cool.”

So what is it that I like so much about Charlie? No matter what tragedy befalls my day and no matter what’s bothering me Charlie’s videos make me smile. Which Blowhole Am I?

June 23, 2010

First, I like to apologize to my fellow blowholians if they are offended by anything here. (I really hope not, because its all in good fun.) Let’s see how well you think you know the Blowholes. This is the first of four version of a poll-type quiz I’ll be giving you. Its a very simple concept. I will give you clues, then you try and guess which blowhole fits the description.

Clues:

I am the most quirky one.

I am all about animals and eco-friendly products.

I’m obsessed with my cat(s).

I wish someday to be a famous writer/actress.

Who am I? (Help me find out cause I just got amnesia and can’t remember!)

Good luck and have fun!!

Author of the Month

June 23, 2010

Our first author of the month is the wonderfully eerie, Neil Gaiman. He is a more recent obsession for me, not in any creepy stalker way, but in an amusing way. I just love how the man writes! I bought a book of his called M is for Magic, one of his many books of short stories and fell in love instantly. The piece I enjoyed most in this book wasn’t even a short story, but his poem titled: Instructions. It touched that part of me hidden real deep, the one that still believes there’s magic in the world. Here’s an excerpt from this poem:

“Remember your name.

Do not lose hope–what you seek will be found.

Trust ghosts.Trust those that you have helped to help you in their turn.

Trust dreams.

Trust your heart, and trust your story.”

The poem, at first, appears to be instructions for how to get around in a fantasy world, but a closer look made me realize that these can be instructions for real life. I suggest reading the whole poem. It will make your toes curl with reassurance that everything will be alright. He is probably more famous for his graphic novels like Coraline and The Sandman series. He also has recently written a new novel called The Graveyard Book, which is about a living boy who was raised by dead people. Some of his books have been made into movies.
