I highly recommend that you check out Spike Jonze’s new short film, I’m Here. The touching story deals with a robot who lives in a society where humans and robots live amongst one another. He’s a timid, awkward robot who falls in love with a free spirited, out going female robot. The short lasts about 30 minutes but it’s worth it. You can check it out by clicking either of the pictures I’ve posted here (the one up top is now my desktop background, BTW). Just be warned that they have a unique way of presenting the film. Chances are, when you first get on the website you won’t be able to watch the film immediately. Apparently it airs at only certain times of the day and if you’re like me, you’ll keep checking at the wrong time. It does let you know when the next showing will be and when that time rolls around, it’ll be available until 1000 people click the link. Might sound like a lot but the spots go fast. While it is a pain in the butt, it actually is kind of cool the way it’s set up like a theater experience and it actually made me more excited to watch it.
Enough talk! Go watch those robots fall in love!
